In-house New Media Designer/Developer for the Museum of Glass, 2004 - 2008.
Visually, this total redesign of the Museum of Glass website was built to feature many more images of the museum, featuring the iconic architecture, beautiful exhibitions and artwork being made in the Hot Shop.
I hand-coded the redesign to strictly separate style from content, and built a fast, efficient PHP templating system, banishing the days of bloated code and table-based HTML layouts.
The website had previously been organized parallel to the museum's internal departmental structure, which seemed very logical to insiders, but created a maze of museum-speak for most visitors. From the navigation, to copywriting, to suggested next steps, I rebuilt the site's structure and content with the visitor in mind.
